Correction of Chin Deformities

Considered an aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery. Not covered by insurance.

Doesn't change the bite.

Surgery is done from inside the mouth.

Outpatient Surgery. Approximately 60-90minutes
-
The chin is cut and re-positioned in 3D [lengthen, shorten, asymmetry].

Plates and screws hold the new position of the chin.
-
The mental nerve is a sensory nerve and at risk (up to 5%) - permanent loss of sensation.
-
The dental roots can be at risk and either root canal or loss of tooth.

Recovery is 1-2 weeks.
