At 2 weeks, dental elastics are typically placed to guide the bite.

The first 6-8 weeks are the most important to optimize the outcome of surgery.  During this time frame we can correct things that can NOT be corrected later.

After 6-8 weeks, the orthodontist takes over until the teeth a fully coordinated (bite).  The orthodontic treatment after surgery may take 4-12 months
