Upper Jaw Surgery

1. Paltal expander are put on first before the surgery by the orthodontist

2. Upper jaw surgery is done inside mouth without outside scars.

3. The upper jaw is sectioned in the middle.

4. When the palatal expander is activated, the jaw is slowly widened.

5. The orthodontist will determine how much to widen the upper jaw.

6. The space between the teeth with be closed orthodontically.

7. A potential risk to the surgery 'injury' to the central incisors (uncommon)
